Make a Safety Plan
A safety plan is a personalized strategy to help you anticipate potential dangers and take steps to protect yourself. While we can help connect you with resources and support in developing a detailed plan, here are some general considerations:
Identifying safe places: Think about places where you feel safe and can go if you need to leave your current situation quickly. This could be a friend's house, a family member's home, or an emergency shelter.
Having essential items ready: If it is safe to do so, consider having a bag packed with important documents, medications, money, and a change of clothes in a secure and easily accessible location.
Establishing a support network: Identify trusted friends, family members, or professionals you can reach out to for support and assistance.
Knowing who to call in an emergency: Keep the phone numbers for Hannah Center and local emergency services readily available.
Online safety: Be mindful of your online activity and take steps to protect your privacy, especially if your situation involves domestic violence.
Remember, you have the strength and resilience to navigate challenging situations. We are here to provide women's support services and connect you with resources to help you create a safety plan that meets your individual needs.
