Resident Advocate, Part-time
Job Summary
Job title: Resident Advocate, part-time
Compensation: $12 per hour
Flexible hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 pm-8:00 am CT; no less than 10 hours per week. During work shift, sleep time is from 11pm-7am.
Job type & location: In-person in Wisconsin Rapids location
Reports to: Director. An annual employee evaluation will be conducted by the Director and/or member of the Board of Directors.
Responsibilities (weekday overnight coverage)
Offer support to all women while promoting independence in a positive, home-like environment.
Skilled in positive verbal and non-verbal communication.
Must possess active listening skills.
Ability to treat all residents with equal respect.
Must be dependable & trustworthy.
Supports Hannah Center’s culture, mission and values.
Have a positive presence in the community.
Assist with all aspects of meal preparation and clean-up.
Monitor all activities and ensure all household tasks are performed by residents, as assigned.
Complete light housekeeping
Complete house walk-through a minimum of twice per day
Provide general support, mentoring, and companionship for all residents.
Hold all residents accountable to The Hannah Center handbook and policies and procedures.
Strive to promote a positive environment & attitude, and offer positive support to all residents.
Maintain and promote confidentiality.
Assist residents to think of all possible outcomes and/or consequences of their choices; help residents to make the choice that will promote positive change within their lives.
Refer residents to the Director when faced with a situation you are unsure of how to handle or is beyond your skill set or job description.
Provide transportation when necessary
Follow the direction set forth by the Director and/or the Board of Directors.
Upon arrival, review previous staff end-of-coverage notes & logs.
Maintain detailed daily logs and house log
Arrange the relief coverage, if necessary.
Resident Advocates will work rotating Holiday’s as recognized by Hannah Center. This rotation will be in rotation with all other Resident Advocates.
Remains on site all night to monitor residents
Ensure residents are settled for the evening and in their respective rooms by 10pm, followed by one final patrol of entrances to ensure evening facility lock-down.

Must be dependable & trustworthy.
Appropriately handles conflict between residents in the house. Does not engage, take sides, or stirs up unneeded conflict situations within the house.

Be open & accepting of individuals and their beliefs without compromising her own beliefs.
Can function in a team setting for the benefit of the Hannah Center and its residents.
Have a positive presence in the community.
Required
Valid Driver’s License.

Support residents by providing general assistance, mentoring and companionship. This position is on-call through the night, but is a sleeping position when not needed for support. Private sleeping and bathroom/shower facilities are provided.

Supports residents in completing work on their goals, provides general support, mentoring, and companionship to adults and children. Assists with meal preparation, performs light housekeeping, is responsible for the security of the building, arranges emergency relief staff coverage and maintains accurate records of resident progress.
